“Never match too much”
“Never wear leather on leather” “Never wear denim on denim”
Do you ever stop
and think about how much society’s opinion consumes us. We worry so much about what
others may think. Whether we look skinny enough, pretty enough, or whether we
are funny enough. Have you ever stopped and thought, whether YOU like yourself?
Who you are, and who you’re becoming? I know this is a little off topic but it
came across my mind as I was slowly putting on my double denim outfit and thought
to myself how much society’s views have changed over the past decade.
Especially in fashion. Since when was double denim okay to wear? I can still
remember the days when denim itself was ‘so last season’. But we currently live
in the 21st century where anything and everything is
acceptable. And surprisingly enough,
double denim is ‘so in’.
Well what does 'so in' mean? Is it based off the latest runway collections? Based off what celebrities are pictured it? Either way... I'm pretty sure this is as 'in' as it gets. I personally love it, not because of who's worn it, but because it is easy on the eye and makes me feel calmer (maybe it's the blue). But if you need justification, some of my favourite double denim outfits are below.
Cara Delevingne
Miranda Kerr

My double denim outfit
consists of two very simple pieces. A top from a random store called in
Shanghai and my denim short shorts that I have hoarded from 3 years ago. (Yes I
have FOMO when it comes to fashion, so I hoard EVERYTHING that I predict will
come back in and when it does… SCORE, I’m the first to be wearing it!)
I love this top
because it is so soft! It has a really nice shape around my collarbones that
reveal a little bit (but not too much) cleavage. It’s sexy, fun, cute; can be
dressed up or down. And I got it for an equivalent of AUD$15! Can you say
BARGAIN?! I’m in love with the faded light denim colour. It looks great with
similar coloured shorts (as pictured), it’s long enough to wear tucked out for
the “lazy lounge look”. It can be worn with black tights for a casual day out,
or even with denim ripped boyfriend jeans for a tomboy look. Try and keep the
colours light and add some simple accessories to add some flavour. I
recommend rose gold stencil rings. That way you can look
lazy/casual/tomboy but still look classy.
You will fall in love and will thank me later.
(This is terrible lighting... Sorry!)
Thats all for now,
Stay beautiful, and be Zuri Gia.
