    The Tall Poppy

The business entrepreneur putting his career on the line for the Manbag.

The manbag. It has strutted down many catwalks, and has even appeared on Joey's shoulder in that iconic episode of "F.R.I.E.N.D.S". But today, we introduce you to the man who has redefined it all.

Let us introduce to you, Jigar Patel. A fashion entrepreneur from Sydney, Australia.

Jigar completed a master's degree in Business and was indulging in the corporate life until he realised something was missing. He then began to turn his life towards his true passion; designing and marketing something fashion worthy. Jigar was "inspired to improve a market - a market not completely explored". When Zuri Gia first met Jigar, the brains behind 'The Tall Poppy', we found ourselves excited over a product that wasn't even designed for our gender. We fell in love with the idea and completely agreed with him. The manbag has had an unstable reputation for some time, and we support his vision to make the manbag an icon.

It's not just about fitting the bag to the idealised 'Harvey Specter' man. It's a bag for the everyday individual, wanting a bag that is inexpensive, comfortable AND attractive, which is exactly what 'The Tall Poppy' have recreated. However, calling these pieces "bags" is an understatement and a far too ordinary term. These are pieces of creation. They are creations of finely cut Australian leather, sewn to a cotton twill lining, containing as much detail as a couture gown. The leather is exclusively selected from leather goods makers' in the countryside of New South Wales.

Another reason why 'The Tall Poppy' is so appealing to us, is because Jigar uses his products as prizes in local Sydney school competitions. Whether the students excel in their studies, sporting or extracurricular activities, Jigar is there to pat them on their back and acknowledge their success. We can see a grand future for 'The Tall Poppy' because we know that success comes from generosity and giving back to the local community.

We understand Jigar's concern. We see it all the time. The men who have spent their yearly pay cheque on a tailored suit, a silk tie and a shiny pair of patent leather shoes, only to be let down by their tattered backpack that their mothers bought them 10 years back. Such a pity.

Let's focus on the the end goal. Confidence. Let's help our men stand out from the crowd, own their leather, and not be afraid to strut their stuff in the most masculine way.

    Together, let's embrace beauty.
