We took a drive to the mysterious suburb of Jacob's Well, located half way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
If you are taking a drive from the beaches of Gold Coast to Brisbane, you may choose to stop at the amusement parks: Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld. However, I would definitely recommend exiting the highway at Jacob's Well, having lunch at the famous Yatala Pie Shop, and enjoying a short afternoon stroll by the water at the Jacob's Well Moreteon Bay precinct.
